A short guide to BO1, BO3, BO5, BO7 — what each signals about the bracket stage.
Best-of-one
Group play. One map decides the match. Rewards consistency, punishes experimentation. Most BO1 sets in pro play are decided in the first three rounds.
Best-of-three
Bracket play across most regional events. Two maps to win. Picks-ban strategy lives here — veto order decides which map pool gets exposed first.
Best-of-five
Playoffs and finals at most flagship events. Three maps to win. The map pool depth gets exposed; teams with two strong comfort maps can be punished if their third map is weak.
Best-of-seven
Grand finals only. Four maps to win. Patch drift matters; the map veto carries more weight than any other round in the event.

Pre-show
The pre-show is where the storyline gets set. Zino's pre-show notes cover casters, recent form, the pick-ban strategy to watch, and the storyline the desk is following.
Mid-round
After map 1, the desk posts a quick check-in: what we saw, what surprised us, what the next veto looks like. Reads are short — by design.
Post-match
Within an hour of the final map, the desk publishes a post-match read. Final score, key rounds, the call that decided the series, and one note for next time.
Match-index questions
How fresh is the match index?
It updates within a few minutes of every completed map. Server-side delays can push a single update out by 10-15 minutes at peak load.
Why are some times in UTC?
UTC keeps the index readable across timezones. Zino's reader app includes a per-timezone toggle, and the match pages expose local start times in major markets.
Can I add a tournament to the index?
If the tournament has a public bracket, a confirmed operator, and a broadcast partner, send the details to the editorial desk via the customer-care page. We review submissions weekly.
Where do post-match notes go?
They live on the news feed and on the team's profile page. The match page itself stays a clean record — result, length, key rounds — without editorial overlay.
